This will be the first year I go, hunting with my youngest son and his buddies, cant wait

 I wouldn't kill that many for the sole reason I wouldn't want to clean them all! But that must have been a fun day!

I'm actually trying to scout around to look for a few places this past weekend - I'm gonna try to get out this September (I say that every year, never seem to be able). Seems like (at least down here in the south where I'm looking) all the fields are nothing but really tall grass, or farms are all corn and beans and won't be harvested for another few months. I'm eyeing some waterholes, but I'm not convinced that where I'm looking is a place where it is legal to hunt them.

Went out yesterday with a small group and we got 5. It was very hot out and birds didn’t seem to be moving. It was just nice to be out in the field again even though it was ridiculously hot.

Had 3-4 big bunches Saturday that got a 5-gun salute. No bands.

Yesterday was better, more spaced out, smaller flocks. Killed another good bunch. 5 bands. God was it hot out though.

Today was so-so. Not hunting again till Friday when it cools down a bit.

Logged another 3 hunts..hoping to get in another 4 before the season closes. Been doing really well.
