Here is a post I made on another site where we are talking about mock scrapes. this is a good information post.   it shows my scents but you can use the information using anyones mock scrape scents, Mine are better but they all work LOL  just kidding.

Here is a vid sent to me of a hunter who films Joe Pio . It shows how mock scrapes or for that fact real scrapes work. This vid shows where he put the scent out that morning so this is a complete brand new introduction of the scent to the deer right then also he used mock scrape #4 as attracting scent not a mock scrape. The buck starts them then checks them until he finds the scrapes that the doe are coming to. He will then only check the scrape that doe are on. The doe when in the beginning of heat will come in and urinate on them and leave, when they become ready to breed she will stay there in the are waiting for him. Mock scrapes are placed where the doe are at in numbers and try to keep doe there by a mock scrape, The doe thinking the buck made a scrape and is checking the scrape, knowing a buck will find them, the second method is, A mock scrape is made not on but up wind and in line with a real scrape line. never go to a scrape, always stay 10 to 20 yards upwind and in line. The reason for this is a dom buck will get mad that another buck took over his scrape but if the scrape is made by an 8 pointer sub dominant buck he may not use that scrape again, thinking he is going to get his butt kicked. In the vid you will notice the one doe in heat as soon as the buck came in, her tail went out and the buck followed her off. The other doe in the area was not affected much by the scrape or the doe in heat. that could have been just the opposite if it was pre and full rut, in fact I believe this was real late in the season may be wrong. Not only does the vid show how the scents work but also shows how the hunter can mess up and not get the shot. For scents to work the best, The hunter must be on the flanks so as the deer are working from down wind to the scent the hunter is getting broadside at 10 to 30 yards of movement for place of shot, yet, staying out of the scent cone. most hunters will not allow them self to be anywhere but down wind of the deer. Joe is the strictest of invisible hunters that I know, so I know he is nowhere but down wind of the scent most likely. The normal hunter is relying on the natural movement of the deer to bring them to the shot, where the scent hunter is relying the scent to do the job. They must trust the scent! knowing how the deer will come to the scent. so in essence the hunter must know the movements in both methods, letting the deer come natural(Invisible Hunter) or controlling the movements (Scent Hunter) - See more at:

Very good but I would have enjoyed it better if it wasn't an advertisement. They/or you could have kept the product name out of it. No offense I would like to try out your scents one day but have my own personal preference for now, Definitely none that are advertised in Mags or catalogues. You definitely have made some winning scents and won a name for yourself.

Jersey hunter My apologies, That is why I said what I said at the top. I don't need to advertise here. those who want to know who I am already do.  If you go and listen to rednecks pride outdoors you will never hear me tell anyone about my products or about me, even though it is my show, All I say is brought to you by and concentrate on the Guest and what they think and say.  that show is to talk about the outdoors.    even doing the taping today for the rack and fins espn radio show today, Tom P had to make me tell something about the products.   So please forgive me with the name being mentioned, I really mean that.  If I could have taken it out I would have.

I have spent many many years learning how deer react to deer scents and baits.  not just mine but many.  If you give me any ones scent I will make it work, they all work, the formulator is not going to put the money and time out for a product that is snake oil.  the reason for this post is many just go out put a scrape on the ground and wonder why nothing happens or why they can not get shots and the bucks.  so again  Please do not look at the product and look at the whys and hows.

most of the state has had a good amount of rain this Past week.  with the deer just getting into the some what horny thinking stages and starting to leave the social stage, low scent on the scrapes from a lot of rain just in that transition mood.  in a week they will start back in there if the doe are around.

Seeing some new bucks on the cams....looks like they are checking does in the feeding areas.

Treestands don't demand, treestands don't complain, treestands simply ask me to sit down and listen.
