Farmer shooting coyote ?

Recommended Posts

My sister has a friend who raises some livestock in nj and has coyotes killing some nightly. She see them on a regular basis. F&G was contacted numerous times she said but they cant do anything. She has a farmer permit can she kill the yotes anytime?

The farmer can shoot them if there was livestock loss. I don't have the digest with me but I read this last year and I believe he can hunt them.

This is what I found in NJ H&T Digest

Wildlife Damage: Property owners or their

agents, and occupants of dwellings that are suffering

damage from coyote, fox, opossum, raccoon, skunk,

squirrel, weasel or woodchuck may control them by

lawful means at any time subject to local ordinances.

I will pass that on thanks! Here coyote is open year round not sure why nj closes season
