Marlin Guide Gun Value?

Recommended Posts

Gents, a friend from my club is selling his 45/70. I am going to buy it. It is an 1895 GS. JM STAMP, not remlin. What do you think a fair offer would be? Can anyone look this up in the gun values book for me? Condition I believe is about 90 percent typical wear from hunting. Same gun pictured in link below. Thanks guys .

600-700 is fair.

I would assume increased  value being a JM? New they are selling for around $750

I did a quick gunbroker search and found 4 JMs for sale. top was 1000. 2 were bidding and 1 sold for 650. Woodsman, you got a steal there!

If you really want it, buy it regardless of the price.  Being an original JM Marlin it'll only increase in value.

I bought that same gun in stainless/ black walnut a few years back. It’s a great gun to own and I enjoy shooting it. Just something about those big bore lever actions.
