Lake Ontario Fishing

Took a ride up to Lake Ontario and went out of Rochester.  Was told the salmon bite was pretty good.  Of course it wasn't too good today.  Should have been there yesterday.     We did manage 5 kings, and 8 lake trout.  A fun day of fishing and some nice days spent with my son, on one of those rare "no sports", weekends.

Those lakers are hogs.  Good fishing, it's all about the time with your son.  Good memories.

I've had that a lot at Lake Ontario, always seemed to do better with lake trout than salmon. I've had a lot more consistent fishing at Erie, and hard to beat the taste of walleye.

Me and a few buddies went up there many many year's ago and fished with the famous Bill Saiff charter, was a great weekend trip

I guess they had a hot streak with the salmon for a while this spring.  I want to go back late summer for the big salmon.  Probably combine a day shore fishing the Oswego River with a day out on a boat.

Love it up there. I could live there, my wife...not so much. My childhood buddy lives in Oswego and has been putting a beating on salmon & trout
