SWEET!

Awesome addition!

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear

Very cool!

Double check your Regulation Set# in the compendium since the map is still showing last years and some have been renumbered this year. For example, last year's regulation set 3A, which includes zone 6 is now regulation set 4. The map is still showing 3A. Just a suggestion.

Please ignore, just noticed this note at the top of the screen: NOTE: The Deer Hunting Location Viewer is not completely updated for the 2013-14 deer seasons: some locations are not showing the correct Regulation Set number. Hunters should note which Regulations Set governs the DMZ they are in.

You know what is absolutely amazing to me....I hunt multiple states and this state is the only one that seems to do it religiously...

WHY is sooooo much state ground posted? What kind of "hunter" does that? Is a deer that important to some that they post ground to make others who may not have anyplace to hunt think they cant there there either? ITS WRONG and it really needs to stop. I cant believe like entire tracks of state woods have posted signs on them. If hunters knew about these "posted" areas that are LEGAL to hunt maybe the woods wouldn't be so crowded?

Not everyone has the ability to access a computer and check property lines. Mainly older guys who have just never used them.

I really went through that mapping system and just cant believe how much ground is really open to hunting that other nimrods post.

Its a great benefit to see whats really open out there! Thanks for posting it

So you come across a lot of those properties that are posted as private?

I would think the state would put up their own signs (usually metal and nailed in)...maybe they just haven't gotten around to it?

Either way, if you know of some properties being mis-posted, might be worth notifying the state and see if they can fix/post it properly?

Definitely a great tool, especially for finding the DMU, that part was always a pain when checking in a deer!

shows area by me as open space . but its posted no hunting. if  you were going to call to ask about open space do you call the division of fish and game or someone in the county?

That's a good question. I'm not sure if all Open Space is open to hunting? Is it possible it's county/township owned and they posted it as no hunting? I know there is township owned land here in Mount Laurel that was once posted as no hunting. I have a feeling you'd probably have to contact whoever owns it (county, municipality). Also verify who posted it (if a name is listed on the poster).
