Snappers on the move

Recommended Posts

Came down the lane this afternoon and thought that a rock was laying in the road.  My neighbor had been doing some road work and I figured maybe he knocked one loose with the tractor bucket, but upon closer inspection:

Nasty little bugger:

Brought him down to the swamp:

I live back in the woods you see

My woman and the kids and the dogs and me

I got a shotgun a rifle and a four wheel drive and a country boy can survive

Saw one yesterday in the opposite side of a two lane country road. Just as I slowed down to move it across the road, two cars came the other way, the first car straddled the turtle instead of slowing down and or going around it. So when it passed the turtle, the second car that was going to fast and tail gateing to close had no time to react and hit it !!!!

I was so freaking pissed !!!!

Thanks for moving the turtle to safety.  Bigger thanks for not picking it up by its tail.

I don't know much on turtles. Could you potentially harm the turtle by picking it up by the tail?
