All I thought when I saw it was it looked like a giant stone fly but don't think they'd be anywhere down here in the middle of the pines.  And I've never seen a stone fly that big except on A River Runs Through It.  But it looks like great monster trout bait.  I'd throw it on and some 10" stocky would swipe it on me in a second! :rofl:

That's a stonefly, order Plecoptera.  Too little exposed in a single photo to ID the genus properly, but not Pteronarcys or what anglers call the Salmonfly.  Those would have orange on the heads.  It's not a fishfly because there are no "fuzzies" on the antennae.
