Introducing another NJW&W first; the BEST BUCK STORY CONTEST!

How to play the game:

- This is not a "big buck" contest. It's all about the story, the pictures and well of course, a little bit about the animal harvested. (or maybe not even harvested)

- Enter the contest by contributing a minimum of $5 to the prize pool for each entry. (100% of contributions will be paid out)

- Submit your name along with the contribution and you will be entered and allowed to submit your 2013-2014 deer hunting stories! (multiple entries require $5 minimum contribution per entry)

- Once you harvest that buck or doe you've been after, write up a story and add one or more pictures.

- If a harvest took place, you must add the confirmation # along with date of kill

- The stories receiving the most "Likes" will then be entered into the finals where they will be reviewed by the Admin and Moderating team and winner(s) will be chosen. (Admin and mods judging will not be allowed to enter the contest) But we'll still share all our hunting tales! ;)

- Prizes will be determined by the number and types of contributions. If we can, we will try to award prizes for a few different categories. Maybe you tried really hard, but just couldn't connect. Maybe you'll win the "Sorry try again next year prize". Maybe you connected on the best buck ever for "The Buck of a Lifetime prize". Maybe you got a kid involved for the "Keeping Hunting Alive prize"...So on and so forth.  There won't be too many categories, since we do want to pay out a reasonable amount to the winner(s), but enough that we can "Spread the love" around a bit and not just pay out to the hunter with the biggest buck.

It's all about the entertainment, so bring your best story!

Good luck out there in the woods and waters of NJ.

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear

I think this is an awesome and unique idea, to make it more about the story and the writer than the required harvest of the animal!

Sometimes you pursue that buck of a lifetime all season long, have trailcam pics over the course of the season, but never connect...the story and pictorial of that pursuit can still be an awesome read!

Hopefully this gains a good interest list of hunters and writers alike!

Please, guy and gals; If you're interested in this contest, please add your name to this thread. There's no commitment at this point, you don't have to contribute until you decide to enter a story. I just want to gauge interest since I've never seen a contest like this before.
