I was there the day they finally closed the "loop" slide for good.  It wasn't open very long and probably maimed a higher percentage of people that any other ride.  We were on line to ride it and a guy went down and when he came out the end his back was a bloody mess.  It looked like he had been whipped.  Somehow sand and gravel had accumulated in the lower part of the tube and when he shot across it with all the downward force of the long drop it just tore him up.

We also had a bunch of kids at school that were missing teeth from the alpine slide.

My first job was as a lifeguard on the Tarzan Swing/Cannonball.  Lots of great memories.

On a semi-related issue, the Division has at least 4 sows tagged and radio collared within yards of the ski trail there and they routinely go into the dens in late winter/early spring to weigh the newborn cubs.  All of these dens are within 100 yards of the condos.

Wasn't that near where Loony Tune Suzy Q got arrested for jumping between a CO and a bear?

I used to see a few bears from the ski lifts.  They would walk around the wooded areas between the ski trails alot.
