I was turkey huntin the mills recently and sure enough, came across a cockbird near a field I had hunted late season in January and February.  Not sure if it was the same bird, but my boy and I missed 7 shots on 2 separate occasions at a cockbird in this field!!  Guess he still has his bullet proof vest on!!!

Always nice to see! There was one WMA that repeatedly would produce a brood or two, but not this year, they cut all the nesting cover.

I never understand this state.  It’s supposed to be a wildlife “management” area but I always see they cut the fields bare.  It’s good to see a bird making it through to the spring but if we had enough cover and food, there would be an established wild population in many areas

Colliers also does the controlled burns.  My son and I heard then saw a cock bird last Sat up in hopewell.

I thought, growing old would take longer !

I spent most of my money on shotguns and fly rods.  The rest I just wasted.

Could have gotten away from a navhda clinic more recently.

Na....this bird was in the same spot where me and the boy kicked him up 3 times.  He has that area pegged and knows just how to survive it all!!
