Nice Brown Trout

All the local rivers spots are still a bit high but I decided since it’s my birthday that I’d atleast give it a shot. It was beautiful outside and I caught a nice brown on the Saddle River.

Yeah I’m pretty sure it is wild. The section of river I was fishing recently had new signs posted stating that it is   Wild Brown Trout Managed.

Very nice fish!  When I lived in Oradell as a kid my Mom would drop me off at the Saddle River at day break and then pick me up at dark.  Caught some nice browns in there.   Fished some of the holes around the Joe Jefferson Club.  Brings back memories.

The Saddle River is a wild brown trout river with some native brookies in one or more tribs. My firm restored the Joe Jefferson Club waters last summer. We had browns move right in to the new pools.
