Conquest Deer Scents

Recommended Posts

In my 33 years of hunting I will admit I never really never had luck with deer scents, but this year after a few years of not using any I'm going to try it, went to Cabela's this morning picked up a few scents from Conquest all in the stick form:

VS-1, Rutting Buck, & Ever Calm

From what I have read on here and many other web pages hunters claim to have great results from these products

deer scents work if the person using them believes in them.  If the person is JUST trying scents, most of the time the scent will not work just like calling deer.  scent and odors are in every animal's  mind.   they are a part of the animals world.  they react to scent every day.

So true some guys will go out and not use the scent to its full ability and wonder why it doesnt work. The same goes with ratteling some guys will try it but not commit to it yes it will scare some of the smaller deer off but your not there to shoot small deer if you ratteling

Hunting and fishing is not a sport to me its a way of life:rock:

x3....I agree with the others. You have to be confident in whatever you do.

I've seen scents work incredibly well on numerous occasions, so I am extremely confident in scent when I feel the situation calls for it. Learn to use it in ways that work for you and it can become another great tool in your hunting belt.

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear

Those on here who know me, know I have in-depth experience with scent usage. more than the average person. those of you that do not know me, I am just someone that may say something that you do not understand or believe.  LOL  I think that same thing about my self a lot LOL    people like myself can make scents do things because we understand them and we want them to work  (The scent and the scent categories), and  understand what the animal will or may do based on many years of using scents.  so my results will be positive more than the hunter that just takes a scent out throws in on a branch 3 feet off the ground at the 12 o'clock position of the stand. and then thinks, I wonder if this stuff is any good or did I waste my money?  The person that buys a scent and has the negative mind set from the get go will never have a scent work.    For a scent to work consistent  the person MUST have an understanding of the scent purpose and what it can do.  use that scent in the perimeter of that scents purpose. with a desire and want for that scent to work.  with that being said most scents have a dual purpose primary (intended use) and secondary  (may fall into the curiosity category) depending on the time of  year, and animal mind sets.  For example we are testing 2 new scents, a sex scent and a territory scent right now till the beginning of Oct.  that's is right a sex and territory.   the deer come to it they just react differently, but still come and do not spend as much time on it.  another example of dual purpose scent is territory it can be a sex scent, Doe in heat looking to get lucky, that same scent placement can be a territory scent dominate buck thinking who is in my space, or a negative scent to the doe that wants nothing to do with a horny buck or a buck that just got his butt kick good by another big boy and really would rather it does not happen again this soon LOL   just some brain farts coming out  LOL
