DIY Driveway gate install

Its hard to see all the detail in this gate. This sunst pic is one of my favorite pics. If you look close, there is a doe and fawn on the left bedded down, several birds, a raccoon, woodpecker, rabbit, all the way on the right a bedded buck with another standing on the end and of course the 2 in the center20170423_193203.thumb.jpg.99dd18f9957c8a67829312c04703ab1f.jpg

I installed Led spot lights powered by a low voltage transformer powered by the solar panels I installed. The lights are brighter than I thought they would be. Ive done a lot of high end lighting systems for some of my customers.  Solar lights dont give a uniform look and are not bright enough. This was my first LED install and I think it came out good. I have been playing around with different ways to illuminate the gate but finding it difficult to get the look I want. Also, I am finding it challenging to keep the lights running for an extended amount of time. 20170511_212024.thumb.jpg.33a8c3ff9ff792f90838a59c3a3d636e.jpg20170511_211937.thumb.jpg.11cb87f9a2de53e09d0ecee70ed1f62b.jpg20171209_173423.thumb.jpg.3162bd607551ddfe5136c3122a7c4a78.jpg

Wow, just wow.

This is what goal oriented looks like in the form of landscaping.

that wagon is too nice to be left outside, I reccomend temporary seasonal ornamentation.

I coat the wagon with water sealer. My wife does her own seasonal decorations

Im still working on finishing the tops of the stone columns and started on the gate controller installation.  Ive been waiting it seems like forever for all of my approvals and permits for the house build. I will never do it again. Everything takes so long to do anything in this state and the fees that go along with it is nothing short of robbery. Ive had a lot of time waiting, so this project kills the time. Finally got all the permits for the house but this weather is killing me

Will update pics later

When are we framing the hip roofs on those columns?

Funny you say that, Ive been waiting a couple weeks now for a guy to help me frame the tops. I do as much as I can. I have done some minor framing before, but angles challenge me

I started on the installation of the opener.

I dug a small trench across the drive. One will be for a mag lock to secure the gate and the other for a camera to monitor the entrance.

The opener arm only came with a 5 ft cord. I wanted to mount the control box further away so I installed conduits to place the box further from the gate and out site. I pulled the wire through the conduits, wired the control and installed a keypad. I just need to get the brackets welded on for the opener arm. 20180317_155303.thumb.jpg.fde490c57bccc537b6ef37925afdb0f3.jpg20180324_175205.thumb.jpg.9fafec91554555a5dd1cfc7db4971ff9.jpg20180318_155531.thumb.jpg.1bd3e046e0cdaf25cb908f98e454664f.jpg20180310_144856.thumb.jpg.b7bee1854895a6b144c49b746f036d9f.jpg
