Sykk Physh Mako weekend.. Lost a good one but came home with some meat..

k, so after some well needed rest I'm ready to go looking again.. Mako Mania was interesting to say the least.. Boats drifting upon boats was a nightmare but we fished hard.. Saturday was just a bad day, few blue sharks and really horrible drifting conditions.. Sunday was better overall for conditions.. We started close to home but again boats setting up within sight of us was not for me. So I made a long run and it paid off.. It took almost 3 hrs to get fish fish, small blue shark.. Then we lost a solid contender after a amazing initial bite.. Fish went air born on the take and so as I came tight she cut 400lb shock leader.. Then a another smoker, a great bite , every got a turn on the reel, we decide to take a boat fish.. Gaff sucked in and deck a nice 100lb mako.. I was ok with the decision since I put a lot of effort into this weekend. The crew went home with bags of steaks and some first time seeing makos.. Thanks to Phil Kelly, Ryan McMahon,Chris Geene,Kenneth DeMatteo and especially Sonia Figueroa for a great crew..

BTW....I take it you got your Raymarine fixed.

Rich , it ended up being my sounder on the ray marine. I have a see thru sounder that sits in a wet box. The seal let go and sounder couldn't get a reading..
