Agree or Disagree On Lowering Of The American Flag?

Do you agree or disagree with the Governor's order to lower the flag on Monday for James Gandolfini, as he did for both Whitney Houston and Clarence Clemons? This has nothing to do with who you like or dislike.

I disagree with his order, I think it's a total disrespect for those past, present and future service men and women who gave up their lives.

Also, let me add he is in clear violation of the Flag Code section 7M

Can the governor order the US flag half-staffed for anyone he or she chooses?

No. Section 7m of the Flag Code authorizes a governor to half-staff the US flag upon the death of a present or former official of the government of the state, or the death of a member of the Armed Forces from that state who dies while serving on active duty.
The President, by comparison, is authorized to half-staff the US flag by proclamation upon the death of principal figures of the US Government and the Governor of a State, territory, or possession, as well as in the event of the death of other officials or foreign dignitaries.

Disagree. IMO it should be lowered for the military, not celebrities.

I completely disagree with lowering of the flag for anyone other than our fallen heros. The flag lowering is the final last respects and thank you for those who have made the ultimate sacrafice for our country and our freedoms. It should not be ordered lowered by the Governor on a whim or because of their music or some charactor actor.. Let the deceased ones families grieve for them. Not the state of NJ..  my opinion
