one of my first experiences using my first climber without knowing about tying them together.  I lost the bottom when I was still climbing with a hand climber. Managed to get myself into the seat at 4 am in the dark waited till sunrise to shimmy down. Fortunately I was in shape at the time. Lesson learned and never forgotten. I always check to make sure their connected. Ps back then a safety harness was un heard of. or at least to me.   " A mistake is not a bad thing as long as you learn from it and not do it again"
