Oak Orchard, NY

Spent the weekend angling up on a few of Lake Ontario's tribs, Oak Orchard is known for it's big lake-run browns, which we all picked up a couple of 20 to 24 inchers, but none of us caught any monsters. Had a great time, was nice to get away for a few days and have some laughs with boys. I think earlier in the fall when the water is a bit warmer we might have had more success fishing artificials, (we probably would have done better drifting egg sacs, but...) we all caught a few steelhead also as pictured below

Likely on their spawning redds and not eating as much right now.

Not on my phone, that was the only fish I had a photo of, I tend to get away from other fisherman..... even my buddies! lol  I'm not sure if anybody took a brown pic

yeah, we caught a few 6" shiners that I bet they would have chewed the hell out of if we had tried drifting them down through the runs, saw probably a half dozen giants landed on bait
