Double trouble Boyz lay the smack down on a Goliath Gobbler…. Willard, Derek, and I met up this morning to try and close out E week with a 2nd. good gobbler for Derek…

Willard and I split off I took Derek with me to try and get on the long beard that came in with the gobbler I killed Thursday….
We ended up finding him roosted about 200 yards from where he was Thursday…. Unfortunately this time he had the advantage and with a flooded swamp between us as we tried to circle and get around him he picked us off in the dark and went silent. So we backed out and let the area rest figuring we would come back at him in a couple hours….

Met back up with Willard and hit up several other areas finding only one other gobbler that clearly spotted us before we did him, and then bumped another bird that was roosting
late in the sun light…

We headed back to the area were Derek and I bumped the big bird in the dark…
Willard went one way and we circled around the other as we worked our way thru we got the text we knew was coming, Willard had going and he was hot.
We doubled back as Willard slinked out of the area so we could move in and draw him in…

We quickly made our way around and located him about 200 yards off..
I quickly set the kid up in the perfect set up to draw this bird into and I knew it would give him a great show.
Once I got him set up I quickly pulled back and started working this bird into a frenzy, He closed the 200 yards in no time and was gobbling and strutting all the way in.

He gave Derek the best strutting show he’s ever seen, he said it was like a Primos Video LOL… once the bird finally broke strut at 25 yards Derek let my old 870 bark and laid the smack down on yet ANOTHER Double Trouble Boyz Monster Gobbler….

The joy and excitement of this hunt will live in my memory forever… Hunts like this is what it's all about...

That is awesome! Great way to help the kid and just an incredible season for all of you!

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear
