Carbon craze

Wanted to try a new Carbon bow .

Being a Hoyt fan for many years I have been looking at them .but didnt want to spend the $.

Saw a good buy on a like new Bow Tech carbon Knight.

So picked it up to give it a try .

While it feels good in hand . Pretty quiet . And very little shock seems to me they just dont shoot as well as a bow of normal weight .

Friend from Ohio is shooting a carbon Martin . That I shot while he was here .

Seemed to have the same feeling .

Whole reason to shoot them is for lighter carrying weight but thinking adding some weight to it might make it perform better .

Anyone else jump in the carbon craze feel any different ?

I think if you're out west hunting elk and covering countless miles each day, then it's probably worth the tradeoff.  If you're treestand/groundblind hunting in NJ or anywhere in the midwest, I just don't see the point.  They feel a little jumpy to me because of how light they are.

i feel like just with a gun, a little weight will promote accuracy.   Now - I am shooting a 2010 Matthews z7, possibly one of the heaviest of the more modern parallel limb design bows ever made.  Not sure I want a real featherweight bow.

Nothing spooks deer more than my stank…
