Kilbo
Set up this morning for my first Jersey hunt. I set up close to where the birds were roosting but when I did some soft yelp at first light..... Boom!!!! He gobbled from within 50 yards from me. I thought it was game over since he had to see me setting up but after about 15 minutes he pitched down right in front of me. After watching him strut for what seemed like forever he finally gave me a shot. I sent a load of Winchester #5 his way and he was history. 17 lbs 10 inch beard and 1 1/8 spurs. I was done by 6:00 BowhunterNJ 1 Aim Small Miss Small..........No such thing as a bad day spent hunting.

Kilbo
Thanks it was an awesome morning. He definitely put on a great show. I even had a hen that was with him almost land in my lap when they flew down. Thought she was gonna bust me and ruin the hunt but it all worked out great. Matty
Awesome! Congrats! Have to love turkey season....I'm sad that it's coming to an end already. “I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear
