Met up with my Turkey Kill'en Partner Willard and our buddy Derick, goal for this morning was to get Derick on a really good Gobbler....

Rain cleared out and didn't take long for us to get on a roosted long beard... Set Derick up and Willard and I pulled back about 30 yards and posted on opposite sides of Derick. Will and I worked this bird into a Tizzy straight from his roost, eventually giving Derick a clean shot at about 20 yards...

Decided since the rain was still light and just starting that we would move down and try and get on another gobbler or two to double or TRIPLE up....

Didn't take long and we had one talking and closing in fast, I barely got set up when he gobbled again right off to the left of me at about 75 yards out... Willard and Derick were set back about 30 or 40 yards behind me, but the bird closed in on us so fast that he was passing by at about 50 yards and headed around me to Willard's calling... As he hit an opening I laid the smack down on him at 50 yards out... game over.... not my biggest bird but still an awesome hunt and doubled up on a quick rainy morning with good friends, tried for a triple but with the rain winning out the brids went quiet again.... Turkey Hunting just doesn't get much better then that....

Had a blast guys and can't wait till we can do it it again

CONGRATS Again Derick... Hell of a Hunt with a hell of a bird

Though the last two birds I took were just sandwich sized 15 pounders... LOL

It was the awesome hunts and great memories of good friends that are the true trophies of this week...

Two more weeks of chasing thunder chickens to go.... Time to get back on some long beards

Very impressive Paul !!   I don't know if we should let you in the woods for another two weeks as there may not be any left for next year after you are through with them.
