Took out No.5 of the 2013 Season right at the closing hour of C week…

Ended C week with this nice sized double bearded Jake, He came in fallowing a bearded hen that I worked into a tizzy. At first I though it was another hunter messing with me LOL.... I never heard or saw a hen get so worked up...

Anyway the Jake never gobbled but strutted a little to close, since it was 11:15am and I was out hunting for a good dinner bird for a Buddy… He’ll do just fine for the dinner plate

Honestly, it's the first Jake I've ever taken and I wasn't sure it was a Jake as he had a almost full fan,

15.5 lbs.
1/2" spurs
5" & 4" beards
And an almost full fan to boot....

Laying them down! Congrats Paul!

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear
