It took over an hour to get him to come 200 yards, over a stream, across the property line, up the ridge and with Four Hens around him.

After a short series of sharp cutts a single hen came looking for me while the Gobbler kept displaying for  his remaining ladies.  When the Gobbler got to 35 yards, I moved the barrel slightly to get a bead on him, thats when the lone hen about 10 yards to my right, alarm Putted.. The Gobbler raised his head to see why the Hen putted and I squeezed the trigger !  Gobbler Down !

Nice job Mike!

We finally got out for C week for the first time this AM. Took my brother for his first turkey hunt. First gobble was right in front of us and I could soon hear that I was competing with real hens. He came to about 60 and then veered to the real hens. I copied them to try and get one mad to come my way, but they went quiet and all left.

We went to switch spots a bit later but there was a truck in the lot, so we moved on....To McDonalds. LOL Jon and Andy were hungry so we ate...but I insisted that we go back to the first spot and eat by the truck in case we heard birds. (We still had time).

Sure enough right after the last bite of my chicken sandwich, I heard a gobble. We moved in on him, and laid our eyes on him. I dropped back to call, but we ran out of time and had to give up after about 20 minutes of working him in. Came close to a last second gobbler for his first turkey though.

Sorry if I hijacked...

Congrats again!

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear
