     At age 10 my daughter shot her first turkey with her first shot.  The next couple I called in were, "swings and misses".  Have no idea what happened on your hunt, but I told all of my 3 kids to aim under the head in the neck, about half way down the neck. At reasonable yardage some pellets in head and some in body.   I think a lot of inexperienced hunters fail to get the bead down low, and or, do not aim, "fine" enough in the excitement of it all.  Have no idea if this applies to you, but good luck, and it will be "sweet" , when she connects next time! Bummer !  It won't be the last ....Anyone who says they never missed a Turkey....Ain't taken many shots at them
