Matty
Welcome to the 1st annual NJWAW Spring Turkey Contest - 2013!!!!Birds taken in NJ as well as NY & PA will be accepted in this contest. The contest will run the entire length of the NJ season. One bird per contestant. This bird may be upgraded to a bigger bird at any time during the duration of the contest. The contest will begin on Monday, April 22nd.The contest will end on Saturday, May 25th. NO birds will be allowed entry after this date. (I understand the PA and NY seasons run longer, but to keep it fair for us NJ hunters that have to pay out the nose for permits every week, we will end the contest 1 day after our season is over). To enter a bird, submit the following on this thread:- Screen name- Team name- NWTF score- Upgrading bird - yes/no- A picture of YOU WITH THE BIRD!- A picture of the possesion seal (for PA and NY, a filled out tag will suffice).- A picture of the check station sheet with measurements clearly visible.OR-Images of you taking these measurements if a sheet is not available or applicable.(beard(s), spurs, weight)NWTF Calculator: http://www.nwtf.org/all_about_turkeys/turkey_score.htmlGood luck. -Matt “I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear

BowhunterNJ
Images for Big John (aka NJBowman). He said the check in station wouldn't let him take a shot of the book for some reason.
NJBowman
Thanks Matt. The guy at the check station said its a state thing and no one should be allowed to take a picture of the sheet. The bird weighed 18lbs had a 9 inch beard and had 1 inch spurs. I have no idea how to score it. Can someone tell me how to do it or do the score for me thanks.
