Pablo and myself headed to earle yesterday to try and catch some stripers..We started off about 3/4 up the pier right before it splits into the the fingers, in about 20 foot of water.the wind was brisk to say the least... we fished here the whole income tide...with 3 skates to show for our efforts..So when we got a call from a friend who was fishing the pier that he saw a few fish caught in shallower water toward the begging of the pier, we decided to make the move before the out going tide started.. We were glad we did.. once the outgoing stared it was game on, we caught 25 stripers with only 2 being keepers, both at 30 inches..even though the fish werent big it was still alot of fun and it was great catching fish my first time fishing the pier. toward the end of the outgoing the water was so skinny it was only a couple of feet deep at most. it felt like we were fishing the flats for bonefish..all fish were caught on clams, I did try throwing some artificals , bucktails, swimmers, ect.. but they wanted nothing but the clams.the people fishing the pier all seem very friendly and helpful.. Gonna give it another go this saturday.. I wont be putting in the marathon I did on Sunday.. I am beat today.. Big thank you to Don and Walter for showing us around the pier and all the helpful tips for fishing the pier.. I am grateful for all the info. these guys have been fishing for a long time so when they speak...I listen..another thank you to pablo for the giant sammich he made for us.. it was delicous..

I am really looking forward to fishing the pier for fluke and blackfish...man the structue is amazing and the various depths should hold all kinds of fish thourgh out.. the summer and fall..
