if that is the same buck then you might want to put him in the freezer as that's some seriously crappy genetics....

Cool pics!! I cant believe he made it this long! Most bucks in the Pines have crappy genetics lolol their isn't much of a gene pool

I think it has more to do with habitat than genes. Poor soil = poor food and slow growing deer.

 

I agree. You won’t see the genetic potential in a deer herd if they don’t have the food to grow the horn, and the quality of the food is directly related to the quality of the soil.

overall i think so too. but there are a few bucks with the genes to grow nice racks under the conditions available. thats what keeps me there
