South Branch

Any one been out on the South Branch yet, Ive been in class since opening day. If so hows the fishing?

I got out yesterday after 5 and caught and released some nice fish. Our Hendrickson mayflies have begun hatching. Stay away from the stocking points and you'll find solid fishing.

Heading out again now. Will post up a report later. Although I didn't fish yesterday, I was working along the Musky planting willows and there weren't any decent mayflies coming off during the afternoon. It's still early yet...

Great day again on the SBR. We had Quill Gordons and dark Hendricksons hatching and the fish were looking up. Landed nearly every fish I cast to. Some nice, wild browns mixed in with holdover and fresh stocked rainbows. One bow was a slob and well over 20". All happily back swimming in the river
