Fishing Line Color

Recommended Posts

This is more for saltwater fish but freshwater fisherman chime in also.

What color fishing line do you use? Do you use different color for different species of fish? Is one more visible than others?

Treestands don't demand, treestands don't complain, treestands simply ask me to sit down and listen.

For salt, I use regular clear mono, but plan on doing a lot of fluke fishing this year, and may try power pro. For freshwater, I have most of my reels setup with clear mono. There's one great little bass pond I fish thats stained green, I have a reel setup with green mono specifically for that pond.

If the water is dirty generally you can get by with anything and if they are feeding hard you can usually use anything also. In clear water is where you'll run into issues and fluorocarbon is your answer.

to fish or not to fish...what a stupid question
