GRUNT Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Anyone fish there, Is that fresh or saltwater? What type of fish are in there.Thought I might try it this week.
bill43 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Forge pond is freshwater for the most part but I guess it could be considered slightly bracish near Rt 70. The lake is very shallow . Inches deep in some spots. Deepest water is near Rt 70 and the channel that runs along the south side. The channel will turn into a stream in the upper part of the lake The stream is a good area but still a little early. There are some man made coves on the north side. That is where I would fish now. Using live Shiners. You used to be able to catch wild shiners in the coves on dough and a small hook. If you can catch them use them. Don't be afraid to fish a 6" shiner . Forge pond is a tough lake to fish but a good lake if you learn it. I grew up right next to it so I know it well. It's where I learned to fish.
Stevo Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I have caught LM Bass off the docks around the marina's. During times of draught the salt moves up in there and the fish move back up the creek. I used to duck hunt right off the parking lot on rt70. Sent from my flip phone with the big buttons so I can see them
