Well had the day off Friday and the weather looked decent. Partly cloudy with temps in the mid 40s...10mph winds. Headed to a lake that usually isnt too bad this time of year and figured id be able to catch a fish or two. Dropped the boat in around 930 and made a run to an area that I figured would hold some fish. Well I was right. I started going down the bank with a crankbait. I was bumping all kinds of wood and pad stems that were starting to come up along with some grass. After a half hour of doing this and not a bite to be had I looked at my rods and picked up my 6'8" crucial with my curado E7 and tied on a 1/4oz tungsten and 2/0 ewg gammy. Put on my secret bait :censored: and started flipping it to a few pieces of wood. Within 5 minutes I had the first fish in the boat. 42 degree water temps and the bass were in 2ft of water. PERFECT. Proceeded to put a pattern together and a 5 fish limit that was silly for the lake. I only know of one bag bigger. I had to leave at 2 but was happy with my results. Put the fish in the livewell for pics at the end. In total I caught 8 bass, three of them being over 3lbs.
