BowhunterNJ Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Man the wind is HONKIN here today, had to be blowing 30+ and very cold...felt like most opening mornings of trout season in NJ...minus ice in the guides! Fishing was pretty slow overall, but we managed to pick away at some more spotted sea trout throughout the day. I had one monster bite in a back cove under some mangroves, had to be a big snook...slammed the DOA, I set the hook, had one good pull and my line got sliced...not sure if it was gills or maybe an oyster bed edge...but whatever the fish was, it was BIG! Oh well, not the first and won't be the last! That's probably it for this trip, packing up and heading home tomorrow. A lot of catching up to do, but I should have a trip report together with pics at some point in the next week or two!
