Turkey lottery unsuccessful

So I put in for both lotteries and was unsuccessful for all my choices. Has this ever happened to any of u guys. I always got my first or second choice. I hunt 14 and I know it always sells out. What are the odds of getting a permit for that zone over the counter. I'm gonna be at the counter at 4/1 at 10am waiting. My property is loaded with bird and I don't even have a permit to hunt them. Sucks

It happens. There will be some over the counter for 14 because I drew b week and can't hunt that week i won't claim it. It will go to over the counter sales. Get to the place you are going to buy from early, as the last time I went at 9:00 am there were already 15 people in line waiting. Good Luck!

Or better yet just be logged on to the computer when they go on sale. This way it's not in the hands of some retail idiot.and you won't have to wait in line

Use to happen alot in the northern zones, till the birds took hold , else where.

Now we don't have many birds, but lots of permits.

I'd rather have alot of birds and difficulty getting permits, then no birds and easy permits.

Atleast you can go out with someone else and have lots of action.

Dubs that sucks man! That's the shame of it, you have a spot loaded up with turkeys and can't even hunt it.

I'm sure you'll be keeping your eyes on the OTC sales and hopefully can get another week or another area! Good luck!

I feel your pain. I lease property in 14 and have lots of turkeys too. I was not successfull in either lottery. Now I have ground that I pay to hunt and I cant even hunt it. The lottery system in this state stinks!!!!

Sucks Dubs. I'm down in 20 and never have an issue, but what I also found out -- at least down here, is that people put in for them but don't claim them for whatever reason. Keep your eyes and ears open and I'm sure you'll get the OTC permit.

My nephew drew a 14 e permit so I will be out calling for him anyway. Hopefully get him his first bird.

every time I didn't get my desired permit I would just go buy it otc...

This was the first time is 3 years I was successful in getting 14E in the lottery. Now to try to get a couple week day permits. I am pumped.

I don't get it. I put in for 14A and 14C and got both. Now after I got 14A I would think I would be removed until fellas that didn't get one went threw first for second permits. I dunno if they are transferable dubs but you can have one if you like.

Stevo, they are non-transferable and you need to buy both of the ones you were awarded they won't let you buy just the one. I was awarded 14 b and 12 b but started a new job and can't hunt during the week so will let my two go to the OTC sale and try for 14e or 12E in the OTC sale if not will not hunt this year.

I was able to get Week B. I wanted Saturdays but the over the counters went immediately. So did Week A. Oh well Im just happy that I will be able to get out there.Goodluck everyone

The site was overloaded and I couldn't log in until 1030...by then a lot were gone but I managed to get 2 of 3 tags
