Cousin Brown Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I know penn isn't what they use to be but what are your opinions on the Battle series reel? This is there " I'm sorry" reel. Defiantly better built than previous models in the price range. I'm tempted to get a couple to try out on some stripers. Treestands don't demand, treestands don't complain, treestands simply ask me to sit down and listen.
flat9999 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I bought the Battle 2000 last year for something to throw into my kayak, but haven't had the chance to fish it just yet. All in all, it seems to be a well made reel. Fairly smooth, some nice features for the price. Online reviews are usually good for this reel in it's price range.
Blend No 27 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 i have a battle 4k for fluke and schoolies and a 6k for the bigger girls...2 seasons on em now and still working great
Spent Brass Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I beat the crap out of my 4000 last year striper fishing and it took everything I threw at it and didn't blow up yet.what more can you ask for at a hundred bucks. Hunting and fishing is not a sport to me its a way of life:rock:
