How have the waiting periods been nowadays? Any improvement from last month?

Talked to the guy at the local Dicks Sporting Goods the other day and he said it is anywhere from 4 hours to 7 days. Someone came to buy a gun from them last Tuesday and he was approved 4 hours later while Dicks already about 20 people in front of him waiting to hear back from NICS. Seems there is no method to the madness.

I went by that new sport shop on 22 to buy a 22 rifle. There were at least 15 people buying firearms. I left and went to Dick's in Woodbridge and got a good deal for a Remington 597, they even took my Xmas coupons, I guess they were desperate. Ok so this was February the 16 I finally got the rifle Monday the 25.
