allmann Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 looking to buy 2 cases of it. Anyone know a good source that isnt $20 a box? Midway is 15.7 shipped, that the lowest i can find so far. Just found estates for 14
Williemo Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 no one I used Estate last weekend and it does the job. My advice, take what you can get; the manufacturers are gearing everything towards bullets and shotgun ammo is going to continue to be in short supply.
GunDogs Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Why do you need high brass? Can't you just use regular or heavy game loads? If you compare Winchester shells... you get 1-1/4 oz of shot and 1330 fps with high brass loads or 1-1/8 oz of shot and 1255 fps with the heavy game loads. You can get Winchester super x heavy game loads for like $69 per case of 10, so is it really worth paying 2-3 times the price for 1/8 oz more in shot and 75 fps? I find that I get a better pattern when I shoot 12 ga shells with 1 oz or 1-1/8oz compared to the 1-1/4 oz of shot anyway. I just use the regular Winchester game loads with 1 oz of #6 for pheasant
allmann Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 more so cause a couple of the guys in the group have cycling issues with low brass. we are doing a tower shoot
Mount247 Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I just got a case from cabelas, 20 ga 1 oz 2 1/2 dram. #6 They were the only shells on sale in the old school looking boxes. I've only been through one box but my montefeltro ate them great. I'll go find the link and post it back here when I find it. Oh yeah $5 flat rate shipping works too. $69.99 per case. http://m.cabelas.com/cabelas/product?cid=1255487&id=1356265 Found it. Good luck. Shoot me a PM with info on the tower shoot if there's openings.
Mount247 Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Allman, sorry for being a space cadet, I just caught that you wanted 12ga, LOL!
