Blend No 27 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 so im finally making the switch to the drop away rest after avoiding it for a few years. I realize the advantages and it is time. there is a million out there? opinions and recommendations? what do you guys shoot?
Drop Tine Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 QAD Pro ULTRA-REST HD http://www.qadinc.com/2011-HD.html'>http://www.qadinc.com/2011-HD.html here is a link to the QAD (Quality Archery Designs) web site. http://www.qadinc.com/ }}}--I certainly do chase New Jersey's BIG Bucks, BIG Birds, and BIG Fish--->Best Bow Buck to date; 2011 Gross; 142 6/8Best Gobbler to date; 2012 NWTF score of 77.5Best Northern Pike to date; 40" (Passaic River Pike )Best Muskie to date; (The hunt begins)
Blend No 27 Posted February 23, 2013 Author Posted February 23, 2013 thanks drop tine. i was leaning towards that one. im going for it
PREZ Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Limbdriver Pro V. Easier to setup. Nothing tied to the down cables, easier tuning (no lining up of timing marks) and much quieter than a QAD. I was a QAD fan till I started using a Limbdriver.
Cousin Brown Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Agree with DropTine. QAD Pro ULTRA-REST HD:up: I switched last year and couldn't be happier. A little pricey but worth every penny. You wont be disappointed. Treestands don't demand, treestands don't complain, treestands simply ask me to sit down and listen.
BHC Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I agree first choice is QAD, second would be the Ripcord
MackofallTrades Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Igor a QAD last year and set it up myself. My groups were instantly better. Sent from my Windows Phone using Foroplex - Mack
BowTechExperience Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I'm a Trophy Taker Pronghorn guy myself. One Piece Stainless Steel Launcher. No plastic parts. Windage and elevation marks make adjustments a snap. Large hex adjustment bolts. Molded arrow guide included to position arrow on bow shelf.
BowhunterNJ Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I've also been shooting the Trophy Taker for years now...I like the micro adjustable version to to make it easier to tweak the rest position during the tuning process. The rest works very well all around and set up is a breeze once you know how to do it.
Gruntmaster Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I have the NAP Freedom Drop Away, works nice, never any problems. NRA Life Member"From My Cold Dead Hands" I'm all for Gun Control...I use both Hands.
Shootstraight Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I am with drop tine, love the QUD rest and they have never let me down. SS!
PV216 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 cant go wrong with a QAD. im sure the other rests mentioned are good too. good luck with whatever you pick. "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Thomas Jefferson
Spent Brass Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I have a QAD on my z7 and my bear strike and love them. They keep you groups tight and the arrow can't fall out a plus in my eyes Hunting and fishing is not a sport to me its a way of life:rock:
Liv2hunt Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I have used the Trophy Taker for years I have never had a problem.. I really like it I Just want to Hunt...
slugger Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I'm personally not a fan of drop aways because I think it doesn't compare to the Whisker Biscuit. Just my opinion. If you really want it then go for it!
