Savage 220 mag issue?

Anyone have any problems when cycling rounds from the mag into the chamber of your 220?

I'm having a problem maybe 50% of the time with the two shells in the mag getting caught on each other and preventing the shell from entering the chamber.

 

Anyone else experience this or have a fix for the problem?

Never had any problems. I have cycled both 2 3/4" & 3" of different manufactures. Is it only one type of shell that does this? Have you tried a different mag in it? Think they sell for about $20-$25.

no problems with mine, using Remington AccuTip 3"

 

Look just inside the mag near the top there is a lip to hold the shell until ready to cycle sometimes the this plastic lip breaks off, that maybe the problem

Thanks guys, it appears that the issue is using 2 3/4" shells only. The space in the mag allows the shells to move in the mag and create a jam up condition.

I've only used Accutips 2 3/4" and I do have 4mags and it happens at random in all of them.
