They work pretty good. i was concerned about my bow hitting it, but it was fine. Still need to cover your legs a little, but for the most part they work as advertised.

I use them often. Leaving them in a tree with high winds, will destroy them.

Don't ask me how I know that. :D

But I keep one in my back pack at all times. Good for when it snows too.

I've ended up using mine as a quick set blind for turkeys and sometimes deer, more often than as a rain umbrella. But it works well either way.

If it's pouring rain, I'd suggest the use of one in addition to lightweight rain gear.

Only thing I hate about umbrellas and rain gear is that it becomes impossible to hear anything but the rain hitting them.

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear

I have used them for over 10 years.. Tack a black plastic bag to the tree than put up the umbrella. I use the bag so the rain water goes down the tree and behind the bag. Otherwise when you lean on the tree you will get wet..

They are great for staying perfectly dry during a rainy day. I've probably had one 15-20 years, killed at least a couple deer while using it. Wear rain gear in addition to the umbrella.

Since I like to hunt light rain I tried one. Well I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked. Won't keep out a sideways rain but works well for a light rain or drizzle thats comming straight down. I don't want to be out there in a downpour anyway. For $20.00 it's a great investment and has lasted for two seasons and about five uses, still going strong.

Same here. One thing is the nut(not me) that holds the wheel does come lose, another is that if used on the ground as a make shift blind the wind tends to move it around. As far as up in the tree, it has saved more than a couple hunts.

Once I unscrew it to leave I put a twig in the hole to make it easier to find the next am I hunt the tree. Some times I pick up broken umbrellas I find on the side of the road or in shopping parking lots to useto walk in the woods with, this way when they get torn up by branches there's no $ lost, just take the trash out with you.

Live2hunt- nice tip.

I got one for $10 at walmart a few years ago. Glad I did. Works pretty good. Helps keep rain off my gun or bow as well as me. Much better than just sitting there getting soaked. Like posted before the noise is annoying but its better than getting wet and the rain hitting your clothes makes noise too.
