remingtonman1108 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Anyone been to Cabelas recently? I might be heading there Saturday AM to buy a couple guns and was wondering the wait time to get NICS check. Also, are their shelves bare? I have a couple hundred in store cred/gift cards and am looking to pick up a couple guns as long as the price is right. Might not buy the guns there, still trying to decide. Might just save it for accessories
BowhunterNJ Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I'm not sure, but I've heard gun counters have been PACKED on the weekends...throw the winter blues, turkey season right around the corner, and the gun law craze...I'd expect a decent wait at Cabela's on a Saturday for sure.

GunDogs Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Not too bad of a wait at hamburg. Shelves were also stocked with ammo
Woodrufflou Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I was there about a month ago and the gun section was PACKED...it was a Sunday morning "I am the MacGyver of cooking. remingtonman1108 Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 I figure it will be crowded but dont want to wait 5-6 hours Or have to come back another day when purchasing these guns, ya know

I dont know how long the wait time was. We were there for a stand and some gear. Walked past the gun section and it was mobbed so we just kept on going lol "I am the MacGyver of cooking. floyd9639 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I was there a few weeks ago on a Saturday and the gun dept was ridiculous. The ammo shelves were near empty as were most of the handgun cases. The library had a decent amount of people in it as well. I just received an ammo order in the mail from Cabelas and prefer to do that as long as the law permits it. BTW....I spent more time in the new cigar store/bar right outside Cabelas. That place is worth the 1.5 hour drive
TheGreek Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I was there Monday. Gun line was not long. Ammo was wiped. Some oddball rifle ammo but most pistol was cleaned out. There were I believe 4 racks of used long guns (kinda light), the pistol cases is reduced to the right side of the ticket machine and its starts about 3-4 cases down. Might be like 5-6 cases with pistols. New rifle and shotguns are there but pickings are slim Its all Greek to me
TheGreek Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I went Saturday around 10am to heritage guild in Easton. Bought a marlin 336 in 35 rem. was out of there in less than an hr. PICS was maybe 20 min and the had a lot of handguns, rifles and shotguns, maybe more stocked than cabelas Its all Greek to me

PV216 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I just picked up a rifle at a local ffl here in nj. The ncis check took 4 days. Not sure if nj and penn are different but I think it's a national system. Hope this helps. Good luck "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Stevo Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 A friend of mine in Pa. had to wait 2 days because his FFL could not get threw on PICS. His FFL said they have over 900 lines at PICS and still they were backed up. Sent from my flip phone with the big buttons so I can see them
