It's a great hunt! The winter of 2002/03 took a real toll on the deer herd. I keep in touch with my guide and he sends me pictures of deer that they have shot out of our camp and they continue to have great success. Anticosti Outfitters. Camp- Aquilla Guide- Gino Savard. (And he speaks good English)

Okay so here's how it went down. It was 2008 and it was my fifth trip to the island. I shot the first buck at first light which made for a good start on the day. Things really started to amp up when I shot the second buck within a couple of hours. While I was waiting for the guide to get the four wheeler, the third buck came down the same trail. I knew we had one more tag and although he was a pretty good way out, I decided what the heck. After I pulled the trigger he disappeared immediately. Now to truly appreciate my reaction when I walked up to this buck, you have to know that the day prior my buddy blew the antler off of his buck on his first shot to which we mocked him mercilessly. So you can only begin to imagine my reaction when I first laid eyes on this road kill! Needless to say, I didn't hit where I was aiming... but did eventually find the matching antler 25 feet away We always had great success on the island, however, the first year I went it was $900.00 and now that same hunt is over $4000.00 I hope to someday take my son on that hunt (after I'm done paying off college tuitions).

3 bucks in 3 hours. Great hunt with great memories...well maybe not a "great" memory on the last buck. Although he did clean up good after he was mounted

What's up the "old guy" comments? Although I must say I never thought I'd here myself say "remember 35 years ago when..."

I remember the day well. I just can't believe it was 35 years ago!!!

Oh my goodness. Where on earth did you dig that up? What you failed to mention is that although it took only one shot from a single shot 16 gauge, it took another 4 shots to shoot your shoelace off to tag it.
