I run nocturnals on my hunting and practice arrows so I have consistent nock fitment and groups. I let the batteries drain out on my practice arrows instead of fumbling with them every shot when practicing. I have seen them last as long as 2 days (48hrs+) in some cases. I have been pretty impressed lately with the battery life.

Have you shot at black Knights before? Not sure if im reading the site correctly, but it looks like there are major events some days and also normal shoots every Saturday and Sunday?

As title says, any 3D shoots being held in August? I'm in Mercer county but would drive a reasonable distance if a club is hosting a shoot. Didn't see any recent posts. Bummed the r100 isn't coming our way this year. Thanks!

Hey All, have been thinking of a trip to southwest WV to bowhunt and wanted to see if any of us out of staters have ventured down that way. Being that I won't be able to get out west this year, I'd like to get some mountain time on the boots and see some new country. Has anyone been? I am certainly down for the challenge as it has great potential on public land. In my minor deep dive into the area it sounds like it can be very rewarding, but it has the potential for some dangerous situations due to the economic climate of the area. I keep an open mind and understand not all I read to be true. I'd much prefer a hunt where my primary challenge is against the game I'm after and myself... Just wanted to hear any first hand experiences down there in the bow counties. Looks like an amazing hunting opportunity and country. Not looking for spots of any kind, feel free to pm. Thanks!

Exactly, very frustrating. There are a limited amount of tags offered for general season, which they then assign you a small plot to hunt. Im sure there are favorites that get the prime locations. Its a "pay to play" tag for use of land WE already pay for being mercer county residents. Minimum doe cull to be eligible for next season. Maybe others can chime in with a positive experience, but in my time applying for the program, Ive always felt like I have been treated like they are doing us hunters a favor for even entertaining the idea of a structured hunt. Then to turn around just to have sharpshooters handle it at night out of the public eye. Its an easy and rewarding remedy IMO to offer more tags and locations for legal hunters to participate, but what do I know. Beautiful areas, just a bummer on the permit situation. Follow the $$$

Been seeing their adds pushed pretty hard the last few weeks, was interested to hear more myself. Looks like cabelas woolimate beefed up. Was a little concerned with the bulk for bow though.

Headed up around West Edmeston Friday to Sunday. Finally got the green light to hunt a family members farm. Not sure what to expect, will be a fun exploratory hunt. Temps look good! How has the rutting activity been for you guys in the past around the opener?
