  1. You should’ve posted a pic of the satchel
  2. Got a bunch of new targets this year to add in to the already diverse mix of targets! Look for some creative layouts as it’s always a fun and challenging shoot at farmers!
  3. Fred Johnston. He was from Ringoes. Sold his landscaping business (and food plot side gig) and moved to Delaware.
  4. Nice work. Congrats Marc! My son passed his archery test in September with your sons bow and we’re hoping to share some success pics with you soon.
  5. Thanks to @NJDFW, the volunteers from hunter education, NJ federation of Sportsmens clubs and many other for putting on such a nice event for the kids today at Clinton wma. Special thanks to Zach and his dog Bean for volunteering their services to find and flush the birds. My son had a great day and left with a limit of 2 birds. Great shooting was done by all 4 youth in the group we were with. All the boys shot birds! This was my sons first hunt as a 10 yr old and looking forward to doing it again in the years to come.
  6. Leyland cypress is no more deer resistant than green giant arborvitae…less resistant in fact as they do not recover nearly as well when browsed upon. Leylands also do not take transplanting very well as a larger specimen. The op stated they wanted quick growing and was ok planting at a smaller size, so leylands would be OK if planted at a 4’ or smaller size to start. Once you start transplanting at a larger size, we usually see 10-15% failure rate in general. Leylands are picky with soil conditions and require more care to get them well established. I’m not a green giant fanboy, but I do see better overall success with them. As long as they are planted “green side up”…they tend to live…and I see most people plant improperly…so they are usually my go-to for a quick screen that will succeed for most people. The op did state that they wanted a tree that would top-out in the 20’ range so straight ‘green giant’ would not necessarily be the best choice…and others recommended Norway spruce…WAY too large! I’d suggest planting another western arb that is a close cousin to ‘green giant’ that is called ‘elegantissma’. This variety of western arb looks much better as a young plant (green giants tend to be quite thin or stringy looking as a young plant…their central leader grows too fast for the bottom of the plant to catch up) and will finish off in our area as a smaller size to its ‘green giant’ cousin. ‘Elegantissma’ is slightly slower growing, but overall just as or even more deer resistant than ‘green giant’ and tends to have a much nicer shape throughout its growth…especially when young. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
  7. Never used one but won’t leave home without my cough silencer!
  8. Nothing is wrong with them posting their services…although our paying sponsors on this forum might care! Also…the question was “what’s the current 30 year rate”. The rates are clearly up…and people in the business are having a harder time getting people to commit…especially on the refinance side since rates have more than tripled what they were this time last year. So…”terrible enough for him to come into a hunting forum to lure in business” is a pretty accurate assessment.
  9. Terrible enough for the mortgage guys to come into a hunting forum trying to lure in business
  10. What’s this mean for applicants that have already submitted but have not yet received permits? Will they need to now fill out the new form and pay more money or are they grandfathered in?
  11. Lots of support for Subaru here…and here I thought you had to be a registered democrat to own one?!
  12. Great news and a great start… https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/23567955-nj_concealed_carry_tro
