  1. Great going Dan !!!! This spring has been a bust for stripers, between the weather and work....but in 12 days, I won't have to worry about the work thing !!! You got me thinking about changing my fishing to crabbing in a couple of weeks !!! Well done, as usual !! Danny V

  6. This is a great friend that I work with...he has a custom shop also for any archery needs....If you don't want to have it shipped, I can take it home to my house in Parsippany for a pick up !!
  7. Great winter buck !!! Congrats !!!
  8. I bought my first recurve from 4 Seasons Archery in North Bergen from Joe Caruso.......2 years later, Joe was going on a trip out west and needed to sell his Bear Alaskan to pay for the trip...I bought it off him and told him he was more than welcome to use that bow on his trip ....He was spot on with that bow and couldn't thank me enough for the offer... We were best friends after that and it was well worth the offer...Joe was a great guy !!!!
  9. With the back bays and river striper season closed until March 1st....I went out on Sunday morning, the 31st to spend a couple hours on the river. It wound up being a great morning with 6 bass landed and too many hooked and lost to count. But using a 3/4 ounce jig with small hooks, it's amazing that I landed any. Nothing big but it was great to be out on the water !! If the weather is good enough in January or February, I may go out again and try for white perch in the river and hope that none of those pesky stripers hit my lures and jigs !!! LOL sorry for the crappy pictures, I tied taking pictures from the computer screen.....Happy New Year to All !!!
  10. I was a.... 4 Seasons, guy on Kennedy Blvd. in North Bergen. Only a few blocks from my house so I spent many hours there with Joe and Tom. I did visit Summit Archery many times though....even took my bow hunting class there in around 1971. Great memories !

  15. After sitting all day on Monday with only seeing 3 does at 4 pm with the shotgun on a friends property, I decided to hunt my "bow only" spot this morning before the rain comes on Sunday and make it impossible to hunt due to flooding. After looking at my log from last year, on December 8th, I saw 3 bucks and 15 does with some chasing going on, so I was just hoping for a repeat. The property was still pretty flooded from the rain last week, but I gave it a shot. I was thinking that the deer would be on the higher areas without standing water, but at 7 30, I could see some ripples in a large puddle and it was a fawn walking about 50 yards away.....followed by another fawn and a big doe. I looked about 50 yards behind them and knew it was one of the bigger bucks that I had on camera, but never saw while from the stand on previous hunts. Luckily he didn't follow the same run that the does were on and was walking in the direction that would give me an open 35 yard shot. I made a rookie mistake by taking off the safety without holding it tight so I wouldn't make any noise, but all 4 deer stopped and looked in my direction after the "click".. I thought I was busted but after a minute, they all were on their way. A perfect shot and saw him run off for 50 yards and then started shaking and walking slowly. He went into a little gully and never saw him go down, so I waited 45 minutes and walked over and he was right there. There was a big 6 pointer around earlier in the season that was my #1 buck, but I couldn't be happier with this buck !!! And not sure if I would have been able to get him to the car without the help of John Riggins !!! I called him and he was at the gym, I told him that I had a better workout for him !!!! LOL
