Ordered a new Longbow from Omega Longbows in Pa. I sent Keegan some bubinga and purple heart that I bought from a mill that was closing. I wanted them integrated into the bow. I ordered the Imperial 64” 50# @ 28”. Fit and finish is beautiful. It literally just arrived so I haven’t set it up or shot it yet but I’m excited. Hope to get good enough and confident/competent with it to take it into the Woods this fall and shoot a deer or 2 with it.

Crossbows don’t interest me but my new custom longbow should be here in the next few weeks. As I get older, I’m more into the process than the result.

It’s been a tough few weeks with cold temps and long hours on stand. Finally paid off today. Went in for the afternoon hunt. She came creeping thru around 430. Shot her from a steep angle. Exit was low on the other side. Double lung and she only went 25 yards. Off of her feet within 15 seconds of the shot. Muzzy’s never fail for me.

Been out everyday (hunted my butt off trying to knock one down for the freezer) for the muzzleloader season including this morning. So far I only saw a few little ones. Had an 8 cross the field (out of range) a few days ago. This morning I basically froze from the wind. I’m heading out for the last 2 hours today. Hoping for some last minute magic but I highly doubt anything is moving in this wind today. Very disappointing season with little deer activity in zone 35. Definitely my worst season in 30+ years
