Back at it in DMZ 5. Same rut stand I started in yesteray before I moved. I was giving the stand I would have preferred to a good friend who is fighting cancer but he felt sick.

Ah the early shots were duck. Heard some grunts at a distance and now see a rack buck across powerline working a doe hard in a 20 acre open field. Can't get a clear view to see if a shooter.

Young 8. Grunted him in. Just had two doe out in powerline coming my way but he scared them off. I thought the grunts sounded juvenile. It's November 5th and I have yet to see a buck around home that I don't have an inventory on from summer cams. Usually by now something new shows up.

Ah. Tagged out and watching barn wood builders.

. It's tough sitting out as the rut gets cranking until 6- day. I would love to see the 6- buck tags eliminated in favor of two flexi-tags. If you did not tag a winterbow buck or a fall bow buck you could be out right now. Shoot another buck now - you are done but it would be on your terms when and how you filled your buck tags.

Thanks hope so will be there for 15 or more days. It's pretty warm there but it's always warm in Kansas. Have never used cold weather gear there. I haven't hunted yet this year so I'm in need of some treestand therapy
