The z2 buck I almost shot came back after dark... This is where he would have been, for a 20 yard shot,  had those two cars not intervened, with plenty of shooting light left.  I overestimated 125-130, I think he is 120-125, and won't get a pass from me.  Back at it tonight.

 

 

Oh and a big bear - first time every in that spot.

You can't make this up. 5:20 a bunch of does coming out of woodlot across the road. 3 doe on my side in the field and a bunch more coming. Some asshole walking the road decides to walk out into the field and blew the entire hunt. I see him walk all the time but he never did that. Grrrrrrrrrrr. This spot is cursed - problem hunting close to a road.

Geez, that spot is cursed! Maybe it's all preventing you from shooting that buck so when a bigger one rolls in you still have your tag!

5 minutes after el-ahole left, a single very familiar lone 1.5 year old doe came in to feed. She been coming in alone for months. I believe she was now eating for "Two" as her boyfriend loved her and left her after their long night of passion.... I had 7 different doe come in after her, from two different directions. If the big buck was around, he was with that group that that guy spooked away.
