Looking for mounted buck for free

A friend of mine who doesn't hunt wants a deer mount for his house. He isnt looking for anything special. And i sure as hell am not parting with any of mine anytime soon. If anyone has a old dusty they are willing to part with please let me know. Thanks..nick..warren county

Estate sales might be a good place to look.  It's not for free, but they aren't the top dollar, aggressive bidding items they once were.

I had to give one of my better bucks away.  

 

I had been hunting a families property for a few years and one day the husband asks if I would shoot the big buck with the double throat patch for him cuz it would look really nice in his house.  I had only ever seen the buck once, from a distance, so joking around I told him sure, I'll come shoot it tomorrow.  I hunted the next day but was looking for a doe for the freezer and wasn't really even thinking about the buck.  A big maple had blown down and the deer were hammering it so I used a climber to set up down wind of it.  A group of does came in and I was just waiting for one of the bigger ones to give me a good shot.  For over half an hour they fed without offering a decent shot so I waited.  Finally one of the bigger ones turned broadside so I came to full draw.  I was just about to release when the buck walks right in front of the doe, buries its head in the branches and starts munching away.  

 

5 minutes later I'm knocking on the guys door telling him I got his buck for him.  At first he laughed, then he realized I was serious.

Here's a pair of  spikes on a floating log. I think they are muleys. The spike on the left got 4 awards and a ribbon for performance.

Aww man, you assassinated that deer, don't let the Pedals people find out, a deer hunting ban might go through the legislature next.
