Friggin wasp or hornet got me!!

I'm so thankful that I am not allergic to bee/wasp/hornet/yellowjacket stings!  Last October while restoring Lubber's Run on the Hudson Farm Club property, I stood on an underground yellowjacket nest without realizing it was there.  I got stung conservatively between 35 and 50 times in a matter of 30 seconds while running through the woods swatting at them off my face, under my shirt, up my pant legs, on my neck, etc.  I jumped into my car which was parked about 150 yards away and they continued to sting me in my car.

 

Once things settled, I took 2 Benadryl "just in case" and our excavator operator had us pour 5 gallons of diesel into his bucket.  He poured it over the nest and we lit it on fire.  As the yellowjackets burned, he smashed the nest into oblivion with the bottom of the excavator bucket.  I hurt for a bit, but never went into shock or anything, so I was lucky, especially with my heart situation.  I've been stung a ton over the years, but never like that!

Wow I cant imagine getting stung that many times.  Nice revenge.

My hand is still puffy but it really doesn't hurt anymore .

I got whacked by the ones that make nests in the ground about 3 weeks ago. I can still feel the spot on my arm. 10 pm, gasoline , one match: no more nest.
